Room-to-room trading, autograph sessions and more are included with your Convention ticket. There are also several special events and charity events available to paid ticket holders which require additional specific ticket purchases in advance. (Specific details can be found in the confirmation packet you receive once you buy your tickets to the Nationals.) Here are those events:
“Evening With Brendon Vetuskey” Dinner: Brendon designed the popular ’67 Pontiac Firebird 400 casting. He will be honored for his seven years with Mattel on Thursday night, Oct. 2. Dinner guests will receive a souvenir dinner car (produced by Mattel, limited to no more than 1,500 pieces), t-shirt, pin, and more. Note that seats are limited.
HWC Vending Machine: It’s loaded with good stuff! There will be five sessions during the show. Sign up for your pulls in advance – they won’t be offered at the show.
The shows also do a lot to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. You can help by participating in the Charity Auction on Friday night at 6:15 p.m. featuring all kinds of special merchandise (including some unique items), and the Silent Auction. Winners of the Silent Auction will be announced at the beginning of the auction, so make sure you stop by the Charity table earlier in the show and bid on your favorites.
There are also a few charity events that require additional specific ticket purchases in advance:
Button Bingo: There will be two sessions during the show. The first session will be on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. and the second session on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
No-Limit Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament: Begins at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. The winner’s game will be held immediately following the end of the final game.
Hot Wheels Convention Mania Game: Begins at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. The winner’s games will be held immediately following the end of each game.
NOTE: Tickets for the Convention are $70.00 each ($75 if purchased online) and good for all five days. You may purchase tickets online (see link above) or by mail. Tickets are limited and sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket sales will end September 15 or when the last ticket is sold, whichever occurs first. This event is produced by Collectors Events Unlimited, LLC under license from Mattel.
